PRPG: Dark Wolf & Admin: Story of the Forest

"Ah, yes, well, we will certainly be able to find the time. This ceremony is not only your birthright, but upon completion, you will awaken your Gift of Healing. Misty is still learning to use hers. Lunara has that covered and I'm sure she'll be able to teach you as well." Responded Stoneheart.

"This mission will tell us if we have enough time for Krix's Spirit Walk. He needs this, weather he wants to or not. Besides, your father and Barron will be here for support." Silver stated assuredly.

Krix's eyes flickered back and forth over Stoneheart's rapidly, trying to figure out if he was truly serious about this. "Why?" he asked. "Why are you doing this?"

Misty shook her head in disbelief. "You can't be serious," she said, meeting her eyes. "Silver do you honestly think Krix would ever agree to this? He barely agreed to spend the night in the Alpha's circle for a NIGHT."

"It broke our parents' hearts when your mother left. Even more so, when it was I who let her go. She saw something in the that moon wolf, and she didn't want anything else. They were both willing to sacrifice everything they had. If that's not sanctioned by the spirits, there is no hope for the rest of us. They sometimes make unique deductions. Look at the throne. Misty and Silver, in the middle of their union ceremony and the spirits pull poor Ember into the middle of it. The tethered her soul to those two. I would have done the same for Misty and Lunara's mother. I would have left everything for her, if that were the circumstance." Stoneheart explained.

"Well, he either steps up, or slacks off. Either way he is left in charge." Laughed Silver. "He can do it. I have seen it in his soul. The only thing left for him is to try. We'll give him a specific task to focus on. That will help him not be overwhelmed."

“Mom always said that the spirits have plans for us but it is up to us if we wish to follow them or not,” Krix mused. He shook out his fur. “I’ll think about it. Though I’m pretty sure the spirits may hold issue with me. But I am definitely not doing anything for a little. I have been away from my pack for far too long.”

Misty gave a short laugh. “It’s not him being overwhelmed that I’m worried about,” she said. “I’m just trying to figure out how you plan on convincing him to do this.”

Silver became excited. "I'm glad you asked, my Love. Like this, oh, better keep up." Silver let out a quick laugh then looked to Ember. "Ember, get ready to run." He walked over to where Krix and Stoneheart were standing. "The tree of us are going away on a mission. Krix, you are left in charge while we are gone. Shadow is your second. If you have any questions or concerns, direct them to Barron or Stoneheart. I am counting on a detailed report when we return and we will brief everyone upon our return. Good Luck." At that Silver disappeared into the woodline. Ember not far behind.

Stoneheart stood silent for a moment, the he let out a laugh. "He did that to Lunara once. Poor pup had no idea what she was doing. Well, it's a good thing you do!" Stoneheart laughed a bit more.

Krix looked after Silver stunned. “Oh no,” he said. “Oh hell no. I am not babysitting the entire forest because he decided to take it over and then wants to go on some mission. There’s three alphas of this forest and I am not one of them.” Krix glared at Stoneheart for laughing before loping after Silver, easily catching up. “Silver!” he barked. “What. The. Hell.”

"Look, right now you need to get back to the center territory." Silver stated while still running. "All the packs are with their Betas reviewing or learning techniques specific to them. So, there isn't much to do besides wait anyway. Just go back and speak to the other alphas, learn from them and teach them how your pack operates. We will discuss strategy when we return." Silver picked up the pace, morning for the other two to keep up.

“Silver,” Krix growled. “It is not my job to teach your runaway alphas how to be decent wolves. ADVISOR to the throne remember? Not the throne. You’re the one that wanted to start this. So finish it.” He reached down, lightly grabbing Silver’s back leg and yanking him off balance to a halt.

Misty slid to a stop beside them, her eyes full of amusement. “I told you it wouldn’t be as easy as you thought it would Silver,” she said, laughing.

Silver reacted in an instant. Krix was pinned against a tree with Silver's jaws around his throat. After a brief moment, Silver let Krix go. "Don't forget your place." Silver's voice went into full command. "If you stop to think, the only ones left at the center are the other leaders, or must I spell it out for you. This is your chance to exchange ideas with the individuals, minus present company, who actually WANT to hear what you have to say. We have pressing matters to attend to that pertains to the throne. Drop you ego. The other six are waiting for you. You are a wolf, start acting like it." At that Silver left. Ember gave a hard look to Krix then followed, leaving Krix and Misty behind.
"Maybe Misty can talk sense into him." Said Ember, doubt saturated her voice.
"Misty will catch up, she might be the only one beside you who could track me." Silver said. Silver wasn't angry with Krix. Krix was still young and had a lot to learn, especially when to recognise the opportunities laid out before him.

Krix’s lips lifted in a snarl and he started after Silver before Misty slipped in front of him, holding him back. “Just leave it be Krix,” she said softly.
Krix snapped, the sound of his teeth clicking together echoing slightly through the trees. “He’s such an arrogant asshole!” he snarled. “Thinks he owns everyone.” He huffed out a breath, pacing in anger. “He has no right. And if he thinks he can order me around like some damn pup I’ll disappear faster than he meet his damn ego.”
Misty sighed, nuzzling his neck to stop him from pacing. “It’s alright Krix. He just wants you to be a part of this forest,” she said.
“It’s not my damn job Misty!” he snarled. “I am an alpha in my own right. Not an omega raised to do his bidding. I agreed to be his ally Misty. Not his lackey.” He sighed heavily, pressing his forehead into hers affectionately. “Things were so much simpler before he came here Mist. I miss you. I miss the way things were.”

Silver and Ember reached the edge of the forest. The humans had been there. Strange tracks passed through the trees and across the plains. The two slipped quietly while they followed the tracks. They heard voices. The two immediately froze when they saw where the voices were coming from. There were three. Two human males and a human female. It wasn't clear what was going on, but if there was one thing Silver recognized, regardless of species, was violence. He looked at Ember. "This is wrong. The humans hurt their own kind, what more would they be willing to do to our forest?"
The young woman screamed for help. The human males laughed. No one was around. "That's it," declared Silver. "Ember, you take the one on the right. The big one is mine."

Krix stepped back, sighing. “Silver is an absolutely nutcase,” he stated. Shaking his fur out he shoved the feelings down and met Misty’s eyes. “I’ll stay in the center territory tonight as I promised Clover but don’t go expecting me to take up the torch on Silver’s whole ‘unite the forest’ crusade.”

Misty touched her nose to his before dipping her head. “Very well Krix. I’ll see you when I return with the others.” She licked his muzzle once before jumping into an easy but fast paced lope to try and catch up to Silver and Ember.

Krix sighed again before turning to go back to the clearing. Once he reached the edge he swept his gaze across the open grass and wolves building dens, looking for Clover.

The two wolves lept from the forest and charged at the two humans. Teeth were bared, snarls ripped from their throats. Silver on all four paws neared the height of the humans. The two human males jumped back in shock and fear as the two wolves stood between them and their victim. Silver was not going to let anyone go without help in a situation like this. The human female looked surprised at the sight of her two defenders. She too was fearful, but she also felt relieved.

Misty slipped from the brush to see Silver and Ember standing in the middle of two humans. Just as she was about to go to the a sleek black wolf with a white dash down her chest leapt up onto the human and pulled the biggest male straight to ground. She raised her head to meet Silver’s gaze, lips pulled back in a snarl with her hackles raised.

Ember was the first to act. She grabbed her target the same time the strange wolf took down the other. The black fur was sleek, but something smelled off about her. "Who are you?" Asked Ember.
Silver held her gaze. "Hello Stranger." Silver greeted her with a welcoming tone. "Welcome to our forest." Silver gestured to Ember and Misty. "What is your name?"

The black wolf glanced between the three of them, her whole body tense as she watched the three of them. She took a step backwards towards the female, nudging her closer to the human camp. The black wolf kept glancing at the three wolves, her hackles still raised but stubbornly saying nothing and kept pushing the human back to the camp.

Silver turned and disappeared into the forest. Ember not far behind.

Misty looked back and forth between Silver and the black wolf. "Silver!" she called. "Wait a minute!"

Sasha's eyes flicked back and forth between the three wolves. In her years she had never actually met another wolf, not even a wolfdog. As far as she knew her mother was the only dog in the fighters that had bred with one. She didn't know how to react to their presence here, all she knew was that they were good. They had taken down the men with ease but she didn't know what they intended with Jess and she was supposed to protect Jess. Her owner allowed her to free roam because of her training. She also had a thin, nearly invisible, but strong black collar that had a tracker and a whistle attached to it so if she was ever needed the whistle was her call to head home or the last place she saw her owners. Just as she was standing firm in front of Jess her collar went off, giving a high pitched beeping at a frequency only dogs could hear.

(Obviously wolves can hear it too. You know what I mean)

Krix easily picked Clover from the crowd and started weaving through the wolves to her. "Clover," he said, his voice soft.

Silver stopped, he looked at Misty. Then he looked at the new she-wolf. "I have seen your soul. You are welcome in our forest. If anyone gives you trouble, tell them this. "The Throne of this Forest has granted me permission to be here. If they challenge you, our names are Silver, Misty, and Ember." Silver motioned to them respectfully. "Your human is also welcome. However, I would advise against letting any human like those two," Silver gestured to the two human males, "into our forest. I don't like killing, but their souls must not be allowed to taint our home."
Ember looked at Silver. "Are you sure about letting that human female in our forest?"
"As long as she is escorted my Love, she will be safe." He replied. "Also," Silver added talking to the new wolf, "please avoid killing in this forest beyond what is necessary for survival."
Ember looked at the new wolf. "What is your name?"

Sasha looked at them suspiciously. They didn't look bad and they didn't have a bad smell like her old humans had but she knew that --- were deceiving. She didn't know how wolves worked; in all her traveling she had never met one. She wanted to learn more about them but glancing at Jess she knew she couldn't leave her. After studying them for a while she spoke for the first time. Her voice was unique with a music-like quality to it, almost as if she was howling while talking. "Oh so you own the forest now?" she asked snarkily. "Besides, I'm not taking Jess into the forest. It's too dangerous and Jack would kill me." Right on cue her collar went off again, beeping loudly though Jess didn't react to it. Glancing at it Sasha huffed out a breath. "I have places to be and fooling around with rogue wolves isn't one of them," she said sarcastically as she turned back to the human female. "And maybe not encroach on human lands next time," she threw over her shoulder. With that she nudged the female, not wanting to walk in front of her so Sasha remained a barrier between the wolves and the girl.

Mist shook her head from a sudden sharp noise, whining in response and pawing lightly at her ears, trying to stop them from ringing. "Please tell me I'm not the only one that hears that," she said, a slight whine echoing through her words. "Besides, what are we supposed to do about the two human males?"

Krix gently touched his nose to Clover's flank, trying to get her attention. "Clover may I talk to you for a second?" he asked softly.

Silver remained calm. Ember did not. She immediately lost her cool. "Human lands? This is a part of our home, our forest. Humans have encroached on our lands. The lands of our family and our ancestors. Who are you?" Ember pawed at her ears slightly, but her temper had flared as bright as her fur. "We have been civil and welcoming and this is how you respond!"
"Ember that's enough." Silver stated. He saw this wolf's soul. There was something unique about her. Silver maintained his composure. "This is our home. If it is threatened, the whole force of this Forest will defend itself against any enemy. If you choose to be a friend to this Forest, you are welcome here. If you choose not to be, than that is your choice."
"Silver! Is she going to get away with this disrespect?" Asked Ember.
"That's not what this is about." Replied Silver. "Her soul is pure."

"Yes, Krix? Clover asked. What do you wish to speak about?"

Sasha watched them curiously. She opened her mouth to speak but just as she did her collar went off again, almost angrily. "I have to get home or Jack will be mad," she said. Sasha tilted her head, an ear flopping sideways as her bright blue eyes flicked over the group. "You all are odd," she stated before almost shrugging and tugging Jess gently.

"Will we see you again?" Misty asked, curious about this stranger with the weird smell and odd outlook on humans.

Krix glanced at the wolves around them. "Come on," he said, his tone prompting her to walk with him alone. "There are many ears around us tonight and this is something I'd rather not get around before absolutely necessary."

Silver watched as the she-wolf led the human female away. "Lets go, there are other camps we uneed to tend to."

Clover walked with Krix. "Yes Krix? What did you want to talk about?"

Misty tilted her head watched the odd wolf walk away. "There's something off about her," she mused. "But I can't put my paw on it."

Krix huffed out a breath. "Silver put me in temporary Alpha position or whatever he's choosing to call it. Advisor my ass," he snipped.

"She's a mixbreed." Stated Silver. "Part wolf, part hound. Her soul is pure, so she is must not be harmed. That human female too, her soul is pure. They mean no harm. These two, however," Silver looked at the two human men. "Their souls are like Terror."
"Shall we kill them?" Asked Ember.
"No, if the humans have any sense of justice, let them deal with their own. We at least will give them help." Silver grabbed the bigger human and dragged him into the camp. Ember did the same with the other. After the men were in the middle of the camp, Silver and Ember disappeared into the forest, Misty right behind them.

"Silly wolf." Laughed Clover. "You are an Alpha. Silver is King. What task did he give you now that has you bothered?" Asked Clover.
